Né en 1965, c’est déjà très jeune que je me passionnais pour les appareils photos. A 5 ans, somnambule à mes heures, je me promenais avec le Polaroid N/B de mon papa, que je prenais et remettais soigneusement en place après mes escapades nocturnes.

Dès que je fus capable de manipuler un tournevis, je démontais et remontais avec curiosité d’anciens foldings Kodak pour tenter de comprendre la magie de la création d’une image. La technique fut donc mon premier amour, puisque j’entrepris par la suite un apprentissage de mécanicien de précision, suivit d’une formation complémentaire de 4 ans comme mécanicien sur avions de chasse.

Avec mes 1^ères économies, j’acquis à 18 ans un reflex Canon et commença à étudier assidument tout ce qui traitait de la photographie. Le monde de l’aéronautique était très intéressant, mais à 27 ans je rêvais d’aventures et de nouveaux défis, je décida de quitter l’aviation militaire pour élargir mon horizon : j’entrepris alors un voyage à vélo qui me conduisit en Angleterre, en Australie, en Nouvelle-Zélande, puis à Hawaii, au Canada et finalement au Chili. C’est durant cette expérience extraordinaire que je décidai de changer d’orientation professionnelle.

Les poches vides, mais en forme et satisfait, je revins travailler en Suisse pour redécoller un an après vers les E.U., afin de suivre une école de photographie visitée durant mon périple. Après les bancs d’écoles, j’eu la chance de poursuivre ma formation en Hollande dans un grand studio de publicité.

Reconnu par l’association des Photographes Professionnels Suisses, en 1996 je lançai mon propre atelier photo au service de l’industrie. La passion pour la lumière, l’admiration pour le travail de précision me conduira avec enthousiasme vers le monde fascinant de la haute horlogerie. En tant que photographe, c’est une spécialisation exigeante qui demande de la dextérité, de la persévérance, ainsi que beaucoup de patience et de rigueur, des aptitudes semblables à celles des artisans horlogers.

Après des années d’expériences, je suis comblé d’avoir trouvé ma vocation où je peux combiner créativité et technologie au quotidien. Chaque fois que j’observe et photographie ces chefs d’œuvres issues de matières nobles, je pense à toutes les personnes hautement qualifiées qui, avec la même détermination, recherchent la perfection et l’excellence. Elles y ont mis leurs cœurs, leurs multiples talents et tout leur savoir pour donner vie à ces gardes temps complexes et admirables.

Aujourd’hui, établit à Lausanne comme photographe commercial, j’ai le privilège de servir la plus renommée et prestigieuse entreprise horlogère Suisse : Rolex. Je vous encourage à découvrir leurs remarquables créations. Hormis mes divers travaux en studio, je partage ma vie avec ma charmante compagne Mexicaine et 3 muchachos qui font la joie de notre maison.

C’est également avec bonheur et un grand respect pour la nature que je saisi des instants d’éternité qui me rappellent à chaque fois combien la vie sur notre terre est éphémère et fragile. Alors, n’oublions pas de vivre chaque jour passionnément !

Born in 1965, it is already very young that I enjoyed looking through cameras. At the age of 5, sleepwalker, I wandered with the B/W Polaroid of my dad, which I took and put back carefully in place after my nocturnal escapades.

As soon as I was able to handle a screwdriver, I dismantled and reassembled with curiosity antique Kodak foldings to try to understand the magic of the creation of an image. The technique was my first love, since I undertook afterward an apprenticeship as precision mechanic, followed by another 4 years training as engineer on fighter planes. From my savings, at 18 I acquired a Canon A1 and began to study assiduously everything which dealt with the photography.

The field of aeronautics’ was very interesting, but at the age of 27, I dreamed of new adventures and challenges, I decided to leave the military aviation to travel around the world and extend my horizon. I began a trip with my bike which led me in England, in Australia, in New Zealand, then in the Hawaiian Islands, in Canada and finally in Chile. It was during this extraordinary experience that I decided to change the direction of my professional career. With empty pockets, but fit and fulfilled, I came back to Switzerland to take off a year later to the E.U. in order to follow a school of photography visited during my journey. After the schools’ benches, I had the chance to continue my training in Holland in a large studio of advertising.

Admitted by the association of the Swiss Professionals Photographers, I launched in 1996 my own photo studio in the service of the industry. The passion for the light, the admiration for the work of precision led me with enthusiasm toward the fascinating world of the Swiss watch industry. As photographer it is a demanding specialization which request: dexterity, perseverance, as well as a lot of patience and rigor, skills similar to those of the watchmakers. After years of experience, I am very satisfied to have find my vocation in which I can combine creativity and technology in daily life.

Every time I observe and photograph these masterpieces produced from noble materials, I think of all the highly qualified persons who, with the same determination, look constantly for perfection and excellence. They have put their hearts, many talents and all their knowledge to give life to these complicated and admirable timepieces.

Today, establishes in Lausanne as commercial photographer, I have the privilege of serving the most famous and prestigious watch company in Switzerland: Rolex. I encourage you to discover their outstanding creations.

Apart from my various works in studio, I also share my life with my lovely Mexican lady and 3 muchachos who make the joy of our home. It is also with happiness and a great respect for the nature that I capture moments of eternity which remind me every time how much life on our earth is ephemeral and fragile. Then, let us not forget to live every day passionately !
